26th Oct 2021 (Workshop 2/6) The Role of the Trustee: Leading the Organisation, Vision & Purpose

During this three hour workshop we will cover the topics below:

  • The symbolic role of the Board as holder of the Vision
  • Connecting with Vision and Purpose: personally (as a Trustee), as a Board, across the organisation
  • Aligning vision and action: personally (as a Trustee), as a Board, across the organisation
  • Understanding boundaries, authority, role and task

Trustees and CEOs for VCSEs in Leicestershire | Information Event

This event will be hosted by Shim Gooch (Leadership Project Manager) and Anne Benson (The Tavistock Institute)

We are holding an information event for new and established Trustees and CEOs in the VCSEs based in Leicestershire.

Leading in Leicester and Leicestershire is a Reaching People leadership project and the purpose of this event is to share what we propose for our Trustee Programme.

This is a new offering where we aim to provide various interventions and workshops throughout the year for new and established board members. We would like to provide support to build the leadership capabilities for those who are new in their role and also for organisations who want their board members to grow and become more established/effective for the organisation’s future sustainability.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts on the interventions and feedback on proposed times of delivery. Attendees will also have the opportunity to bring up any support that is missing which we could look at providing in the future.

It will also consider the impact of the Covid crisis on community assets and the role of community assets in the post-crisis response, recovery and resilience of local economies.

Leicester is a priority area for Power to Change so they are keen to support approaches for sustainable community asset ownership and help grow the sector locally.

Reaching People have been engaged by Locality to deliver three network events as part of our new local leadership programme.
